Palm Reading: How to Read the Lines of Your Hand

Readings by Ajarn Chayut, founder of horoall.com

Palm reading (palmistry) interprets the lines, shape and features of the hand to explore a person's character, fortune and destiny. The readings on these pages come from the Thai palm-reading collection of Ajarn Chayut, the founder of horoall.com, combining the classic textbooks with notes from his own years of reading palms.

How to read a palm

  1. Look at the four main lines first: where each one starts and ends, how long and deep it is, and whether it is clear or broken.
  2. Then look at the small marks on the lines: dots, islands, chains, crossing lines, branches and forks.
  3. Read the lines together. One sign rarely tells the whole story; Ajarn Chayut often notes that a reading depends on the other lines around it.

Can the lines of the hand change?

In Ajarn Chayut's experience, yes. He has observed lines becoming clearer, longer or joined again over months, and he connects these changes with the way a person lives. His advice for weak or broken lines is always the same in spirit: think kindly, do not harm others, help people in need and do good according to your own faith. In his words, if you can change your habits, a line loses its power over you.

Palm reading is for entertainment and self-reflection. It cannot diagnose illness or predict the length of a life; for any health concern, please see a doctor.

Palm reading FAQ

What do double lines mean?
A second line running alongside a main line is called a supporting line. It strengthens that line; next to the life line it is a sign of a strong, resilient life. See line markings.
What does it mean when the fate line joins the life line?
Success comes through your own steady effort, starting from the age shown where the lines meet. See fate line.
Is a broken line bad?
A break marks a difficult period, but it is not fixed: Ajarn Chayut has seen broken lines close up again. See line markings.
