The Hierophant Tarot Card Meaning

Group: Major Arcana · Keywords: tradition, faith, guidance

The Hierophant (sometimes called the High Priest) is steadiness, virtue and faith: a generous, principled and learned person who helps others.

General meaning

Values a simple, disciplined life and spiritual practice, and feels protected by faith. Good health and long life. A wish for quiet reflection, retreat or prayer.

Love

Not the easiest time for romance. You follow traditional customs and take things slowly; once committed, you are faithful, supportive and a good listener. Showing affection more openly would help. A partner may be much older or from another country.

Work

Support from superiors and progress in education: scholarships, doctoral study, specialist expertise. Spiritual work, medicine, nursing, research, teaching, editing and writing are favoured.
