Baby gender from the parents' ages
A light-hearted Thai folk method: add the two parents' ages, multiply by three and divide by seven; the remainder is said to show whether the baby will be a girl or a boy. It is a bit of fun to share while you wait, about as reliable as a coin toss. Only an ultrasound scan or a medical test can tell you your baby's sex.
About folk gender predictions
Families all over the world have playful ways to guess a baby's sex, from the shape of the bump to the Chinese lunar calendar chart. None of them has been shown to work better than chance, but they are a fun part of the wait.
