Thai life graph
The Thai life graph (kraf chiwit) is a popular folk method from Thai astrology. Three numbers from your birth, the weekday, the month of the Thai lunar calendar and the number of your Thai year animal, are laid out in twelve columns, added and reduced to 1–12. The twelve results are the twelve houses of your life, from fortune to setbacks, and each column also stands for one year of age in a 12-year cycle.
How the Thai life graph works
- Weekday: Sunday = 1 to Saturday = 7, written in the first seven columns and counted on by one each column.
- Lunar month: the month of the Thai lunar calendar on your birthday (the first month, Ai, usually falls around December), counted on to 12 and back to 1.
- Year animal: the Thai year animal (Rat = 1 to Pig = 12). The Thai lunar year changes in the fifth lunar month, so people born early in the Gregorian year may belong to the previous animal.
- Houses: the twelve column totals, reduced to 1–12, are fortune, wealth, friends, family, team, rivals, partner, health, happiness, career, status and setbacks.
The lunar month and year are taken from the horoall.com Thai calendar tables (1537 to 2056). Translated from the Thai edition; the Thai verse, the birth-date paragraphs and some long essays are not included, and the texts were condensed and adapted for an international audience.
