Flying Stars Feng Shui (Xuan Kong)
Xuan Kong Fei Xing, or Flying Stars, is a school of feng shui that adds time to space. Nine stars “fly” through the eight directions and the centre of a building according to the 20-year period in which it was built and the exact direction it faces. The current Period 9 runs from 2024 to 2043.
How flying stars work
Time is divided into nine periods of 20 years. The period star is placed in the centre of a Lo Shu square and flies through the sectors in a fixed order. The stars that land in the sitting and facing sectors are then flown again, forwards or backwards depending on the yin or yang of the building's mountain, giving the mountain stars (people) and water stars (wealth). Stars in season help; stars out of season hinder.
